Releasing the 'Champion' in others.

The way we respond to others could either build them or break them. Never underestimate anyone. Inside every person is a 'champion' waiting to be released. What we see in others is not important, even if in the natural it seems to be negative. The only thing that is important, is what God’s Word says about them. God sees them and His creation made into His own image. He calls us all Sons and Daughters (Children) of the Most High (2 Cor 6:18), Heirs to His throne (Gal 4:7) and Ambassadors (2 Cor 5:20).

It is easy to see the negative in others but can we see the potential in them as well? "For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you."(Matt 7:2/ Mark 4:24) "And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?" (Matt 7:3). Michelangelo said there in a beautiful sculpture hidden in every piece of marble, stone or rock.

It is said that most Gold Medal Olympians were average people but who had a hidden talent. The opposite is also true. Only a very small percentage of obvious gifted children go on to win a Gold Medal. The way we judge or support other may make the big difference for them in life.

Michael Phelps, with 14 career Gold Medals and 8 Gold Medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, is the most successful Olympian ever. At the age of 9 he was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Instead of keeping him on drugs, his mother believed in him and took him for swimming classes to deal with his high energy levels. Her reward today for not giving up on him is that she is now mom to the most successful Olympian ever.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover”. Never write anyone, or for that matter a child off. When God looks at any of His children, He does not see any imperfections or limitations. He only see the reflection of His Son Jesus Christ through whom all is possible (Philippians 3:14).
